Featured Dish: Brewer’s Chicken

“”Chicken medallions and fresh mushrooms sauted in a Marzen sauce. Servced with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables”
With a number of beers to match a large menu of food, Gordon Biersch is always a great place for any occasion. I choose the Brewer’s Chicken, and swapped my garlic mashed potates for an extra serving of veggies – I couldn’t have made a better choice! I know it wasn’t much for the sake of nutrition, but I had to enjoy their seasonal beer with my meal.
How Was It?
Phenomenal, The Marzen sauce was light but packed a ton of flavor to separate this dish from your average choice of chicken. The veggies included definitely boosted the variety on my plate, and swapping the mashed potatoes for asparagus was a GREAT decision as well. What really gave it the most personality was the mushrooms that were sauteed, overloading each bite with more and more flavor!
How Healthy?
On a scale of 1 to 10, we would be looking at an 8 for the Brewer’s Chicken. The reason why I choose this is the Marzen sauce didn’t exactly add much nutritional value to this plate. Yes it’s quite lite, but at the same time adding saturated fats to your diet are never really beneficial. Note, this is the ONLY downside to this dish, and extremely minimal at best!
